We are sad to share that this event has been canceled due to concerns about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Minimizing large group gatherings is an important public health measure to reduce the risk of person-to-person spread of the virus. We thank you for your understanding and hope to see you at another event in the future!
As marketing professionals, blogging and influencer marketing has become a huge part of our vocabulary these days — and for good reason! While still a fairly new branch of digital marketing, the popularity of influencers grows more and more every year. In 2018 alone, there were more than 2.6 million sponsored Instagram posts (whoa!) and that reach is expected to grow over the next few years.
As a marketing nerd and someone who’s passionate about content creation, I’ve loved seeing the growth of influencer marketing on a local scale! The city of Madison is near and dear to my heart, and seeing local influencers with a broader reach highlight the community is truly amazing to see.
On March 18th, we’re bringing together an extremely talented group of local influencers to answer all your questions about blogging and influencer marketing in the Madison community, and beyond. I know I’m excited to hear from each and every one of them, and here’s why you should be too! Learn more about the event and get tickets here.
Alex David – @madisonfoodiefinds
Alex started Madison Foodie Finds because of her love for Dane County Farmers Market blueberry pie! She’s a self-proclaimed foodie who loves eating “more than Aaron Rodgers loves football” and wanted to create a community where she could share her favorite local eats. Pretty awesome if you ask me! Her favorite food happens to be potatoes (of any form), but on her Instagram, she shares everything from the local-favorite Greenbush Donuts to tasty Wisconsin-crafted beer.
Why I’m excited to hear from Alex: Food and beer — need I say more?! A girl after my own heart! Not only do I love hearing about the best food and beer in Madison, but she’s also helping local businesses grow by sharing tasty food finds from all over the beautiful Madison metropolitan area and spreading their reach.
Chloe Homan – @frizzandfrillzz
Chloe describes herself as a 4’11” content creator who’s helping her followers master their natural curls, beauty, and fashion with a “peppy-positive twist” — how fun! From a quick look at her Instagram page, you’ll see all of this is true. She’s got some of the most beautiful curls I’ve ever seen and her fashion is on point, not to mention she’s always authentic and honest in her posts.
Why I’m excited to hear from Chloe: As a fellow curly-haired girl, not only am I excited to hear about her favorite hair care products, but I’m also very interested to learn more about how and why she started her blog. I love how she’s helping others embrace their natural curls and waves, all with a positive and fun attitude.
Maddie Brady – @maddiekbrady
Always bubbly and smiling, Maddie is a lifestyle blogger in Madison with a focus on style, pop culture (hello, The Bachelor!), and feminism. From workout advice to her journey with therapy, Maddie is bright, bubbly, and a breath of fresh air in Madison’s local blogging scene. When she’s not creating content on her blog or Instagram, Maddie works as a PR, Social & Content Account Executive at Hiebing, a local marketing agency here in Madison.
Why I’m excited to hear from Maddie: Her personality and authentic nature! Maddie just seems like the type of person you always want to be around, and I can’t wait to hear more about how she balances her career at a marketing agency with her various side hustles, mental health, and physical health.
Brita Larson – @britalarsoncounseling
Brita is a clinical social worker, therapist, and trained hypnoanalyst who helps those suffering from anxiety disorders, including college students who experience test and performance stress or anxiety. While her blog was started in 2019, the journey to creating it began long before that. Brita’s mental health story started as a child and it’s led her to where she is today: helping others navigate anxiety and stress in the real world through a variety of different therapy methods.
Why I’m excited to hear from Brita: One word: hypnosis! This topic is fascinating to me and I can’t wait to learn more from Brita on how it can help with anxiety disorders. I also can’t wait to hear more about her journey to becoming a therapist and hypnoanalyst, and hopefully learn some tangible tips for dealing with anxiety in the real world.
Allie Kelley – @heyallie.xo
A self-proclaimed polka dot queen, Allie is a fashion and lifestyle influencer with a focus on thrifting and ethical fashion. She’s also truly mastered the art of the side hustle. In addition to holding down a full-time digital content designer position at a small agency here in Madison, Allie also runs an Etsy shop where she sells her “atomic pom” earrings, maintains her thrift-focused blog and Instagram, AND serves on the board of Ad 2 Madison as our very own creative chair.
Why I’m excited to hear from Allie: Allie is one of the most positive, fun, and bubbly people I’ve EVER met and I love working with her on the Ad 2 Madison board. During this event, she’ll be helping moderate the discussion, but I also can’t wait to hear more about her many side hustles and how she finds balance managing them all. I also think all attendees, including myself, will find value in her tips and tricks for thrifting and how sustainability is forging a new path in the fashion industry.
