Disclaimer: I am a huge Taylor Swift fan. There’s basically nothing this girl could do to make me stop loving her. Case in point: I had a Taylor-themed Bachelorette party and often say that Taylor’s battles are my battles (lookin’ at you, Katy Perry and Kim K).

However, even I can agree that Taylor has hit a rough patch in the last few months. With a very public break-up and rebound, as well as a messy feud with the Kardashian-Wests, Taylor has had to fight to stay in the critical public’s good graces.

Despite these recent events, here are three reasons why I think Taylor will rebound and come back stronger than ever.

1. She knows how to turn the story around.

Remember way back in 2013 when Taylor just finished dating Harry Styles and took a much-needed break from the public eye? Her critics said she was “boy-crazy” and a “psycho girlfriend” when she was just dating like any early 20-something would.

Taylor responded by pointing out the obvious sexism in her critics’ comments and writing a song called “Blank Space” in which she poked fun of herself and pointed out the ridiculousness of it all.

People quickly realized that Taylor was a strong female who shouldn’t be put down for writing about her feelings.

2. She has an amazing PR team.

Does anyone remember the video that came out in 2014 of Taylor buying, wrapping and delivering Christmas presents to her fans?

There are also countless videos of her inviting fans over to her home to listen to her play her new album and posts on Instagram of her encouraging some of her fans who were bullied. This is PR at its finest. I like to think this is just who Taylor is, but regardless, how can you not like someone who shows her appreciation of the people who got her where she is today?

3. She knows how to grab attention and advertise the hell out of herself and her brand.

Taylor’s fifth album debuted number one, sold nearly 1.3 million copies during its first week and became the best-selling album in 2014, despite being released at the end of October.

Some say this is because she has so many fans, but I completely disagree. There are many artists who have just as many fans as her. The difference is that Taylor grabbed the attention of people early, and with great promotion skills, hyped up the release by putting out teaser Instagram posts and having a world-wide live stream event where she released her first single. Her promotion of this album was nothing like I’ve ever seen before, and I imagine it will be even better when she releases her sixth album.

Love her or hate her, we all have to admit that Taylor’s marketing skills are out of this world. She’s been minimizing her Twitter and Instagram presences for a while now, so I can only assume she’s planning her next attack. Can’t wait to see what she has in store!
