With strong marketing skills and financial service industry expertise he took on successively challenging roles at top global firms such as Bear, Stearns & Co., Citibank, KPMG, LLP, and Ernst & Young, LLP. Shortly after September 11, 2001, Tom Farley began to ask himself what many in the New York area were also wondering, "Isn’t there more to life than this? What sort of legacy am I building?" In early 2002, Tom Farley left the financial services world with a vision to build and grow a small foundation that had been established in his late brother’s name - The Chris Farley Foundation. In just two short years Tom Farley had established a nationally recognized brand with an unmatched ability to gain (and retain) the attention of youth populations. It was around that time that his wife looked at him and said, "Hey, when did you get so creative?" Tom Farley returned to his hometown of Madison, Wisconsin in 2004 and has served as Director of Marketing for the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB). As with his foundation, Tom Farley took on the role of "brand evangelist," demonstrating how vision helps feed the brand and how brand helps develop the strategic plan. Frequently noted for his strategic vision and brand development expertise, Tom Farley founded Farley BDG (Brand Development Group) to bring his unique style and proven communication techniques to a wider audience. Tom Farley has a degree in Marketing from Georgetown University. He lives in Madison, Wisconsin with his wife Laura and their three children - Mary Kate, Emma and Tommy. He currently serves on the boards of a number of arts organizations.
