Yahara Bay Taste and Learn

Join us as we tour Yahara Bay, Dane County's first legal distillery!

Micro distilleries today are what micro breweries were 20 years ago.  In 2006 there were only 80 micro-distilleries across the U.S., in 2009 there were 165, and the number continues to grow.  Yahara Bay Distillers opened in 2007, the third in the State of Wisconsin.  This small-batch craft distillery focuses on creating spirits that take advantage of the agricultural wealth found across the State: Apple Brandy made from 100 percent Honeycrisp Apples grown in Gays Mills, Gin flavored with juniper berries hand-picked from Washington Island, and Whiskey crafted from four Wisconsin-grown grains to name a few.

In addition to crafting premium products, Yahara Bay, much like all small businesses, has had to find a way to navigate a saturated market, growing competition, consumer awareness, and legislative roadblocks all on a micro-budget.

Following the tour, stay for networking and free tastings of all Yahara Bay products. A small sampling of products will be available to those over the age of 21. Appetizers and a cash bar will also be available.
